Whether you’re choral or instrumental, how do you go about selecting literature for groups to perform? What do you look for in a piece? And, what are some of the favorites you’ve either performed or directed recently? Make sure you specify the sort of group you perform with. :)

I think this is a tough decision for any director for any age group because each year can be different, even with the same group. You have new people joining and leaving the group so the dynamic changes, even per semester. 

I think to get a good basis for what is good rep is to introduce a variety of things, both relatively easy and hard, because you may think that something is easy and the group has trouble with it, and visa versa. This has happened to me many times both now in college and high school. You have to be open to the group and expect the unexpected.
